How Pressure Units Relate
Pressure units all reduce to the pascal, the SI unit defined as one newton per square meter. PSI (pounds per square inch) traces back to the pound-force and the inch, two US customary definitions, while bar and kilopascal are metric multiples of the pascal, which is why bar and kPa convert to each other with a clean 1:100 ratio but PSI doesn't.
