Torque Converter

Torque: convert between newton-meters and pound-feet using the exact standard-gravity definition.

Works for any combination of the units above -- every value converts through the same verified base-unit math used on the individual pages.

How Torque Units Relate

Torque, the rotational equivalent of force, combines a force unit with a distance unit. The pound-foot (or foot-pound) combines the US pound-force with the foot; the newton-meter combines the SI newton with the meter. Because both are built from already-exact force and length definitions, the conversion between them is exact but not round.
